In November 2021, Mayu Hirano’s work Instant Suspendu for accordion and electronics was released on the album “Turn on, Tune in, Drop out”, performed by Fanny Vicens and published by Éole Records.

The disc features seven works that explore the relationship between the accordion and electronics through different approaches. Hirano’s Instant Suspendu places the accordion at the very center of the dispositif: the instrument releases fragile, trembling sounds before being overwhelmed by an electronic wave that engulfs it.

In her review for ResMusica (January 1, 2022), critic Michèle Tosi highlights how the electronics expand the spatio-temporal field, with the accordion embodying the sensitive and quivering side of the sound.
