Festival de l’Histoire de l’Art, Fontainebleau (2021) — Screening of A Page of Madness with New Score by Mayu Hiranoフォンテーヌブロー美術史フェスティバル（2021）― 平野真由による新作音楽による《狂った一頁》上映

At the Festival de l’Histoire de l’Art, Fontainebleau on June 6, 2021, Teinosuke Kinugasa’s silent film A Page of Madness (1926, restored version, 35mm, black and white, 67 minutes) was screened at the Cinéma Ermitage – Salle 1.

The film was presented with a newly composed score by Mayu Hirano, commissioned and co-produced by IRCAM and the Centre Pompidou, with the support of SACEM. This score had received its world premiere two days earlier at the Centre Pompidou during the ManiFeste Festival.

The screening was introduced by Philippe-Alain Michaud (Musée national d’art moderne) and attended by Jonathan Pouthier (Musée national d’art moderne) and Mayu Hirano, who shared insights into the creation of the soundtrack.

A Page of Madness remains a landmark of Japanese avant-garde cinema, telling the story of a janitor in a psychiatric hospital who tries to help his wife escape after she is committed for drowning their child.

2021年6月6日、フォンテーヌブロー美術史フェスティバルにて、衣笠貞之助監督の無声映画 《狂った一頁》（1926年、修復版、35mm、白黒、67分） が シネマ・エルミタージュ（Salle 1） で上映されました。

この上映では、IRCAMとポンピドゥー・センターの共同委嘱（SACEMの支援）により作曲された 平野真由による新しいサウンドトラックが付されました。この音楽は、2日前にポンピドゥー・センターで開催されたマニフェスト音楽祭にて世界初演を迎えたばかりです。

上映は フィリップ＝アラン・ミショー（国立近代美術館）の解説によって紹介され、ジョナサン・プティエ（国立近代美術館）と作曲家 平野真由 も登壇し、新しい音楽の制作背景について語られました。
